Igbogbo Students Union Kicks – Off 70th Anniversary With Sporting Competitions

Students across the Igbogbo Community were on Tuesday engaged in different sporting competitions as part of the activities commemorating the platinum anniversary celebration of the Igbogbo Students’ Union (ISU).

They were engaged in football, Chess, Scrabble and Snooker competitions, organised by the anniversary planning committee.

All the games took place at the UAMC ELEJA Primary School, Igbogbo, except for the Snooker competition which held at Menzzo Bar, Igbogbo.

The games showcased both teamwork and individual brilliance from the participating schools .

In the football match, Oreyo Senior Secondary School displayed remarkable knowledge of the round leather game when the team defeated Reri Senior School with 2 goals to nil. Boluwatife Sholade and Blessing sealed the victory for Oreyo Senior Secondary School.

In the engaging Chess game, it was all affairs of Movers Senior School as Osman Oshoke and Damilola Omotayo, both from the school triumphed over Khalid Alabi and David Olayinka both of Oreyo Senior Secondary School.

In the primary school categories of the Chess game, Movers Primary School and UAMC Eleja Primary School, qualified for the final.

In the Scrabble game, UAMC Eleja Primary School won against AUD Primary School while Movers Junior School outplayed Zumratul Islammiyah Junior School to claim victory.

It was another thrilling engagement in the Snooker game held at the Menzzo Bar as Abdulwaris Abdulateef of Movers School emerged winner against Azeez Samoud of Zumratul Islammiyah School. Despite his small size, Abdulwaris’ confidence and skill earned him the win and the admiration of the crowd of spectators.

The games continue today.
